Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has urged India to join China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the mega project would provide New Delhi shortest land route for trade with China and regional countries. He made these remarks while speaking at a seminar organized by the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) in Washington.
The minister further said that Pakistan’s economic turnaround had been registered positively by credit rating agencies. “We have very actively pursued peace with Afghanistan and India because our development depends upon peace in the region,” he said, adding that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is a strong advocate of peace in the region.
Responding to a question, the Minister said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would contribute to regional peace and prosperity through economic development and connectivity.
